Chrome 104 is a web browser developed by Google Inc, available for download in full install version for Windows platforms from legacy sources. This version of Chrome was officially released on 2022-08-02 for public access and a brief summary of important updates and change log pertaining to this edition can be read below.

Google Chrome 104.0.5112.81 was built on Blink 104 layout engine using JavaScript V10 engine version 10.4.132. This version is released for Windows, iOS and android platforms and has many functionality additions apart from number of fixes and improvements. 

• Region Capture: Users can now specify a crop area using region capture when using getDisplayMedia() to capture the current tab. In video conferencing now you can choose which part of the screen be it any tab or just any part of the screen which can be highlighted  for recording and sharing. It lets the user gets great control over hiding their sensitive part of an active screen.
• Multi Screen Window Placement API: There are enhancements to the multi-screen window placement API. With a simple click or tap users can now allow websites or apps to place pop-up windows or full screen contents in their device. Infact this API was introduced in Chrome 100 version itself and now the functionality is extended for betterment.
• Cookies Life Cap:  Apps can not a cookie life to be more than 400 days as Chrome has control over explicit Expires or Max-Age attribute.
• Deprecation: There are couple of deprecated controls like removal of non-standard client hint mode, U2F API (cryptotoken) and Blocked third-party contexts navigating to filesystem URLs.
• Media query syntax: It can be written using mathematical comparison operators. Media Queries are critical to responsive design, allowing you to define specific styles for different viewport sizes. But, unless you use them every single day, the syntax can be a little confusing. Chrome 104 adds support for Media Queries - Level 4 - Syntax and Evaluation, allowing you to write media queries using ordinary mathematical comparison operators.
• Shared Element Transitions: Starting a new origin trial in Chrome 104, allows you to provide smooth transitions, regardless of whether the transitions are cross-document (for example in a multi-page app), or intra-document (for example in a single page app).
• The overflow-clip-margin CSS property specifies how far an element's content is allowed to paint before being clipped.

IOS Edition Changes

• Password Management:  Users can now manually add site passwords by navigating through Settings-->Passwords. 
• Link Share: Now users can create and share a link to any part of a webpage so that the received person need not to search the page for the specific area.  
• Open Tabs: iPad users can view their open tabs at a glance by dragging into the address bar.
• New Layout:  Now the Chrome on iOS has a new menu layout
