Chrome 116 is a web browser developed by Google Inc, available for download in full install version for Windows platforms from legacy sources. This version of Chrome was officially released on 2023-08-18 for public access and a brief summary of important updates and change log pertaining to this edition can be read below.

Google Chrome 116.0.5845.97 was built on Blink 1156 layout engine using JavaScript V8 9.9  engine version which offers improved garbage collection and runs javascript code faster. This version is released for Windows, iOS and android platforms and has many functionality additions apart from number of fixes and improvements.  

• Document-Picture-in-Picture Mode: Now while browsing the web you can also read documents like PDF, Spreadsheets in a floating window. This was earlier available only to Multimedia coontents like videos & audios.  now implemented for non-multimedia contents also.
• One Time Permissions: Now the browser let you grant permissions to websites just one time for accessing your devices hardware like microphone, camera etc. The persmission get null and void after the current session which improves the security of the user.
• Missing Stylesheets Debug: Stylesheets missing can be now debugged wiht new developer tool which can change the way the websites appears in different platforms.
  
• Fetch API: Garbage collection overhead can be reduced and responsiveness can be improved with bring your own buffer readers.
• Motion Path: It allows authors to position any graphical object and animate it along a path specified by the developer.
• Scheduled Security Updates: Now chrome releases weekly updates for malacious attacks and other security vulnerabilities without waiting for next stable release which increases the user confidence in the browser.
• Layout Menu:  With windows like layout now users can spilt, casecade the tabs just like Windows OS screen.
  

• Smoother scrolling: Android 14 now has the nanosecond API which is leveraged by this release for much more improved scrolling over earlier choppiness.
• Incognito screenshots: Now screenshots taken in Incognito mode will not be shown in recent apps overview which is a significant improvement in privacy.
• Disappearing Tabs: Some taps were disappearing  when user tried to open them and this age old problem has been fixed in this release.

• Improved Memory Saver: Now users would be able to view how much garbage memory is recovered by suspending certain tabs and favicons of the suspended tabs will be in grey.
